Water Based Adhesives Manufacturers
Water Based adhesives products contain usually 40-60% solids. We offer special grades that offer up to 80% solids. The majority of adhesives are viscous emulsions of PVA (polyvinyl acetate) or EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), but there are also solutions of starch, dextrin and PolyVinylAlcohol (PVOH)
The majority of our end products are compounded adhesives, that can be blended with plasticizers, tackifiers, anti oxidants, fillers, colours and many other ingrediënts that can be food-based, bio-based or raw materials from a chemical industry. Waterbased adhesives need to vaporize ith water, and therefore are most times applied to porous substrates. Bonding non-porous materials may require extra precautions, such as pre drying, extra heat, or at least on porous surface, such as wood, paper, non-wovens or most organic materials.
Advantages of water based adhesives are
-simple implementation
-advanced dosing technologies available, such as high speed jetting of Baumer HHS, Nordson, Robatech and Valco Melton.
-Economic usage: relative low price per KG and low amount per product.
-Enable a very long open time for assembly and laminating, drying, for example first fibre tear, can be reached after 20 seconds or less.
- A durable bond, upt to D4 water and heat resistant. Water based adhesives may be combined with hot melt adhesives, for a durable bond but also very fast setting. (less than 1 second compression time for a hotmelt adhesive). The durable bond is then made by the slower setting waterbased adhesive.
A special group within the waterbased adhesive range are acrylic adhesives they may remain tacky after drying (Pressure sensitive) and may be a solution for hard to bond substrates, such as coatings or plastics.
