Polyolefin hot melt adhesives
Polyolefin hot melts, also known as PO hotmelt, are mostly thermostable (non coaling, non charring, non fuming) versions of cheaper, and mostly used, EVA hot melt adhesives for e.g. food packaging purposes. Mostly the polyolefin hot melt adhesives can be recognized by their white colour and waterclear, fully transparant fluid in the hot pot (hot melt tank). Furthermore, polyolefin formulated hot melt adhesives are known for their improved adhesion to plastic materials, and coated or lacquered cartons.
Intercol is able to offer multiple solutions, based on EVA, Polyolefin, PO, metallocene or most other thermoplastic materials. Hot melt adhesives are mostly a blend of three major raw materials:
-A base polymer (EVA, Polyolefin, etc.)
-A tackifier resin
-A wax
Besides the formulation of our own products, we are able to offer private label hot melt adhesives or toll blending.
Metallocene is one of the base polymer adhesives formulation options.
In basic, a Hot melt adhesive is just a thermoplastic product (it melts when it becomes hot) that has good stickyness and bonding properties. To ensure fast setting (fast drying) and a reliable bond.
