Waterbased adhesive can bond to plastics, the challenge is to let the adhesive dry, let the water vaporize out. The most obvious way is that the one of two substrates is porous, like a textile, a non-woven, paper or carton.
What if non of the substrates is porous?
It’s not common seen in the industry, but you can apply the wet adhesive to one substrate and let it dry. Some adhesives provide a self adhesive, sticky glue film. Heat reactivation of the dried film might also be possible.
