Waterborne nonpermanent adhesives are highly dependent on the substrate for providing the right adhesion. Changes in coating (amount, type), paper quality or ink (type, color) may affect adhesion. It is important to apply the right amount of glue on the coated paper.
Note: Hotmelts appear to be much less sensitive to substrate changes in non-permanent adhesion for mailing applications.
My nonpermanent (fugitive) adhesive seems to provide gives fiber adhesion, while peel adhesion is required.
