Standard adhesives may not bond to coatings/laminates like PE and UV. These coatings and varnishes usually have a low surface tension and are not well permeable (dense surfaces). The VA 600 series of Intercol (both for roller and spray/jetting adhesive) adhere to many of these cardboard types. Not all PE coated and UV-lacquered substrates are glueable, longer compressing and drying time has also to be taken into account.
Are waterborn adhesives suitable to adhere to PE coated or laminated cardboard?
